Description of Xenon Low Voltage Ultra-Slim Lights

  • Many Uses: perfect for cabinet lighting, small display cases, exhibits, office and medical work stations, shelf lighting, showcase lighting, under cabinet lighting, merchandising, and bars

    FIXTURES
  • 4 Models:
    PNM-254-W-L: White finish
    PNM-254-B-L: Black finish
    PNM-254-C-L: Chrome finish
    PNM-254-G-L: Gold finish
  • Ultra-Thin Profile: when recessed-mounted ultra-thin profile (9/16in) allows installation without the need to drill completely through the cabinet surface; only 13/16in in total height when it is surface-mounted; diameter is 2.75in.
  • Die-Cast Aluminum Housing: die cast aluminum housing with decorative plastic outer ring
  • Clear Glass Lens: high heat-rated clear glass cover

    LAMPS
  • Xenon Lamp Included: both a 20-watt 12-volt xenon bipin light bulb and a 20-watt 12-volt halogen bipin lamp are supplied with each fixture. You may order additional bulbs in the Accessories tab.
  • CRI: CRI is 100 for all xenon light bulbs (100 is considered to be the best)
  • Good Lamp Life: rated life is 10,000 hours on average (In contrast, a 20-watt bipin halogen lamp is generally rated at about 2,500 hours.)
  • Lamp Voltage: 12 volts (Requires a transformer.)
  • Bipin Base: G4 bipin base (pins are spaced 4.0 mm apart)
  • Lamp Replacement: when the bipin lamp needs to be replaced simply screw off the face of this fixture (counter-clockwise), pull the bipin lamp out of its socket, push a new bipin lamp into the socket, and screw the face of the fixture back on (clockwise)

    ELECTRICAL FEATURES
  • Quiet Electronic Transformer: xenon low voltage ultra-slim lights require a 12-volt electronic transformer to operate properly. Please order the transformer from the Accessories tab.
  • Dimmable: may be dimmed with a dimmer designed for an electronic low voltage transformer. Please order the dimmer from the Accessories tab.

    INSTALLATION
  • May be Surface or Recessed Mounted: may be surface mounted or recessed mounted
  • Surface Mounted: if this fixture is surface mounted, it will stick down only 13/16in
  • Recessed Mounted: if this fixture is recessed mounted, it needs a hole diameter of
    2-3/8in and a hole depth of only 9/16in with the outer trim sticking out only 0.25in
  • Long Electrical Leads: each Xenon Low Voltage Ultra-Slim Cabinet Light comes with 24-inch leads with a plastic connector. The plastic connector is simply plugged into a Multi-Tap Connector which, in turn, is hard-wired to an electronic transformer.
  • Multi-Tap Connectors: multi-tap connectors provide an easy method to wire multiple fixtures to an electronic transformer. Multi-tap connectors come in two sizes; one connector (PNM-143) can accommodate up to 3 fixtures while the other connector (PNM-146) can accommodate up to 6 fixtures. Please order the multi-tap connectors from the Accessories tab.
  • Easy to Install: please refer to these Installation Instructions (PDF). Always check local electrical codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC) before installing any lighting products. It is also wise to consult with a licensed electrician in your geographical area about any electrical details that you might have questions about and to make certain that you are satisfying all of the appropriate electrical codes.

Measurement Guide for Xenon Low Voltage Ultra-Slim Lights

When determining how many Xenon Low Voltage Ultra-Slim Lights you will need for under cabinet lighting you first will have to measure the space where the fixtures will be attached. To do this you should NOT measure the face of the cabinets; you should measure the "cavity" under the cabinet where the fixtures will actually be placed. We recommend that you then refer to the following table when determining how many Ultra-Slim Lights you will need. From the range given below select the number of fixtures that seems right for your situation.
