Description of Xenon Low Voltage Triangle Lights
- Many Uses: perfect for cabinet lighting, small display cases, exhibits, office and medical work stations, shelf lighting, showcase lighting, under cabinet lighting, entertainment centers, merchandising, and bars
FIXTURES
- Low Profile: xenon triangle light has a total height of 1.5 inches with a triangular face that measures 5-1/8 inches from the tip of the triangle to base of the triangle
- Metal Frame: metal frame with a frosted glass lens
- 3 Attractive Finishes: brushed chrome, black, white
- Even Light Distribution: frosted glass diffuser provides even light distribution
- Cooler Than Halogen: xenon light bulbs give off much less heat than comparable halogen light bulbs
LAMP
- Lamp Is Included: 20-watt, 12-volt, xenon bipin lamp with a G4 base is supplied with each fixture. Additional spare lamps may be ordered in the Accessories tab.
- Good Amount of Light: 225 lumens/lamp (approximately equal to that of a 25W standard incandescent light bulb)
- CRI: CRI is 100 for all xenon light bulbs (100 is considered to be the best)
- Good Lamp Life: rated life is 10,000 hours on average (In contrast, a 20-watt bipin halogen lamp is generally rated at about 2,500 hours.)
- Easy Lamp Handling: unlike a halogen light bulb the glass envelope of a xenon light bulb may be touched with bare hands (while the lamp is cool) without causing the lamp to fail prematurely
ELECTRICAL FEATURES
- Long Electrical Leads: each xenon triangle light has a pair of 79-in electrical lead wires
- Quiet Electronic Transformer: xenon low voltage triangle lights need a 12-volt electronic transformer to operate properly. A 60-watt electronic transformer with a 7-foot cord, a 2-prong polarized plug, and an in-line on/off roller switch may be purchased separately. One, two, or three triangle lights may be operated on the same transformer. The transformer has built-in short circuit protection, overload protection, and radio frequency interference (RFI) suppression. The appropriate transformer may be ordered in the Accessories tab.
INSTALLATION
- Surface Mounted: the xenon low voltage triangle light is surface mounted near the “back” of a shelf or cabinet against the “back wall” and upper shelf
- Easy to Install: please refer to the Installation Instructions for complete information. Always check local electrical codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC) before installing. It is also wise to consult an electrician in your geographical area about any electrical details that you might have questions about and to make certain that you are fulfilling all of the appropriate electrical codes.
- Easy Wiring: the Xenon Triangle Lights come with 79-in leads that can be easily plugged into a multi-tap connector that is connected to the low-voltage side of the transformer. The line-voltage side of the transformer, in turn, can be connected to power by simply plugging the polarized plug into the nearest electrical receptacle.

Measurement Guide for Xenon Low Voltage Triangle Lights
When determining how many Xenon Low Voltage Triangle Lights you will need for under cabinet lighting you first will have to measure the space where the fixtures will be attached. To do this you should NOT measure the face of the cabinets; you should measure the "cavity" under the cabinet where the fixtures will actually be placed. We recommend that you then refer to the following table when determining how many Triangle Lights you will need. From the range given below select the number of fixtures that seems right for your situation.

- A) Generally it is a good idea to try to install the transformer under the cabinet shelf or in a cabinet if possible.
- Q) How many Xenon Triangle Lights can be powered by one 60-watt electronic transformer?
- A) One, two, or three 20-watt Xenon Triangle Lights can be powered by one 60-watt transformer.

Q) What makes this a xenon lighting system?
- A) Xenon gas has been introduced into the glass envelope of the xenon bipin lamp.
- Q) Why is xenon gas added into the glass envelope of the lamp?
- A) The addition of xenon gas into the glass envelope increases the rated life of the lamp. The addition of the xenon gas also creates a light source that has a Color Temperature that is higher (cooler) than an ordinary incandescent lamp but still lower (warmer) than a halogen lamp.
- Q) What is the rated life of the xenon bipin lamps?
- A) About 10,000 hours.
- Q) What does “rated life” mean?
- A) The “rated life” of a lamp signifies the time at which 50% of a large quantity of these lamps will have burned out. That means that 50% of these lamps will burn out BEFORE the “rated life” and 50% will burn out AFTER the “rated life”. The “rated life” does NOT mean that every one of the lamps will last at least that long.
- Q) Is this definition of “rated life” true for all lamps?
- A) Yes, this is the standard rating for the life of ALL lamps.
- Q) What “kind of light” is given off by the xenon bipin lamps?
- A) As mentioned earlier xenon lamps have a Color Temperature that is between ordinary incandescent and halogen. That is, the light is cooler in appearance than incandescent but warmer in appearance than halogen.
