- CRI: CRI is 100 for all xenon light bulbs (100 is considered to be the best)
- Good Lamp Life: rated life is 8,000 hours on average (In contrast, the typical halogen lamp is generally rated at about 2,000 hrs.)
- Cooler Than Halogen: xenon light bulbs give off much less heat than comparable halogen light bulbs
- Easy Lamp Handling: unlike a halogen light bulb the glass envelope of a xenon light bulb may be touched with bare hands (while the lamp is cool) without causing the lamp to fail prematurely
- Spare Lamps: to purchase spare xenon light bulbs for this fixture please order in the Accessories tab
ELECTRICAL FEATURES
- No Transformer Needed: since this is a line voltage fixture no transformer is needed
- Hi/Lo/Off Switch: integral hi/lo/off switch
- Linkable: there are 2 easy ways to connect (link) fixtures together electrically. They can be connected end-to-end directly into each other or they can be linked with Linking Cables. Either method makes use of the male and female Molex connectors that are included at the two ends of each fixture (see the "zoom images" above). The first method allows two fixtures to be touching each other while the second method allows two fixtures to be connected across a distance of about 3ft or less. To purchase Linking Cables for this fixture please order in the Accessories tab. [Caution: do not interconnect more than 600 watts (30 lamps x 20 watts each) in any single installation.]
- Dimmable: with most standard incandescent dimmers
- Dimmers: For a complete description of the Line Voltage Dimmers that we offer please see our Line Voltage Dimmers section. For more information about dimming the Xenon Line Voltage Thin Task Lights please see the FAQs. To purchase dimmers for this fixture please order in the Accessories tab.
INSTALLATION
- Easy to Install: please refer to these Installation Instructions (PDF). Always check local electrical codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC) before installing any lighting products. It is also wise to consult with a licensed electrician in your geographical area about any electrical details that you might have questions about and to make certain that you are satisfying all of the appropriate electrical codes.
- Optional Linking Cables: available in white or black and in three lengths: 12in, 24in, and 36in. A Linking Cable can be used to electrically link 2 xenon task lights together. Optional linking cables may be ordered in the Accessories tab.
- Optional Power Cord: 6-foot power cord with 3 wires and a grounded plug is available in white or black for optional plug-in installations. Optional 6ft power cords may be ordered in the Accessories tab.
- Getting Power: these Xenon 120V Hardwire Thin Under Cabinet Task Lights may be "hardwired" using standard household wire. They are easy to install using the quick push-in connectors that are supplied in the fixtures and the multiple knock-outs on the rear of the task lights. The hardwire models can be connected up to 640 watts (32 light bulbs). Always check local electrical codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC) before installing any light fixtures.

Measurement Guide for Xenon Line Voltage Thin Task Lights
When determining how many Xenon Line Voltage Hardwire Thin Under Cabinet Task Lights and which size you will need for under cabinet lighting you first will have to measure the space where the fixtures will be attached. To do this you should NOT measure the face of the cabinets; you should measure the "cavity" under the cabinet where the fixtures will actually be placed. We recommend that you "fill up" the cavity space with as many fixtures that can fit. For example, for a space that measures 28 inches we recommend that you use the fixture that measures 24in long, NOT the one that measures 16in. This will ensure that the countertop below will be uniformly lit.

FAQ About Xenon Line Voltage Thin Under Cabinet Task Lights
Dimmers | Hard Wiring Guidelines | Xenon Bipin Lamps
- DIMMERS
Q) Can I use a wall dimmer with the Xenon Line Voltage Task Lights?
- A) Yes, a wall dimmer may be used to control the Xenon 120V Hardwire Thin Task Lights.
- Q) What kind of dimmer switch should I use?
- A) An ordinary incandescent (line voltage) wall dimmer can be used to dim the Xenon Line Voltage Task Lights as long as the wattage rating of the dimmer exceeds the total wattage of all of the fixtures controlled by that dimmer.
- Q) Where can I find dimmer switches that are designed to control line voltage light fixtures?
- A) Please see our Line Voltage Dimmers section.

- HARDWIRING GUIDELINES
Q) How should the Xenon Line Voltage Hardwire Thin Task Lights be wired?
- A) It is always wise to consult an electrician in your geographical area about any electrical details that you might have questions about and to make certain that you are fulfilling all of the appropriate electrical codes.
- Q) What type of wire should be used to connect the Xenon Line Voltage Task Light to the household current?
- A) You can use standard household ROMEX® wire, normally found at your local hardware store, to wire the Xenon 120V Hardwire Thin Task Lights directly to power.
- Q) Can I connect several Xenon Line Voltage Task Lights together and control them with one switch
- A) Absolutely. If you are connecting the Hardwire Xenon Task Lights simply connect the “first” xenon task light to household current using standard household ROMEX® wire, then connect the “second” xenon task light to the “first” task light using a Linking Cable, then connect the “third” xenon task light to the “second” task light using a second Linking Cable, etc.

- XENON BIPIN LAMPS
Q) What makes this a xenon lighting system?
- A) Xenon gas has been introduced into the glass envelope of the xenon bipin lamps.
- Q) Why is xenon gas added into the glass envelope of the lamp?
- A) The addition of xenon gas into the glass envelope increases the rated life of the lamp. The addition of the xenon gas also creates a light source that has a color temperature that is higher (cooler looking) than an ordinary incandescent lamp but still lower (warmer looking) than a halogen lamp.
- Q) What is the rated life of the xenon line voltage bipin lamps?
- A) 8,000 hours on average.
- Q) What does “rated life” mean?
- A) The “rated life” of a lamp signifies the time at which 50% of a large quantity of these lamps will have burned out. That means that 50% of these lamps will burn out BEFORE the “rated life” and 50% will burn out AFTER the “rated life”. The “rated life” does NOT mean that every one of the lamps will last at least that long.
- Q) Is this definition of “rated life” true for all lamps?
- A) Yes, this is the standard rated life definition for the life of all types of lamps.
- Q) What “kind of light” is given off by the xenon line voltage bipin lamps?
- A) As mentioned earlier xenon lamps have a color temperature that is between ordinary incandescent and halogen. That is, the light is cooler in appearance than incandescent but warmer in appearance than halogen.

"Just wanted to share with you the results of the undercabinet lights that I ordered from you (Xenon Line Voltage Hardwire Thin Under Cabinet Task Lights). We absolutely love them and they've made a huge improvement to our kitchen. I was worried that the light would be a bright, unwelcoming color, but they put off a beautiful, warm glow. We placed them towards the front of the cabinet for task lighting and I'm very happy with that choice as well (it still reflects on the backsplash area but shines more on the actual area of the counter you're working on). Thanks again for your informative website and top-notch customer service." – Chloe & Co.
